How should a sciatic nerve problem be treated?

Each case is different and the manifestations associated with the sciatic nerve are different in each patient.

Patients are usually offered therapy that initially includes medical treatment, physical therapy, and others. If patients, despite this treatment, do not show improvement and a cause of pain is identified, surgical treatment can be offered.

In those cases where the pain is intense and acute, is associated with some loss of strength in the leg and/or the sphincters are compromised, surgical treatment could be offered in the first instance.
