About me

I was born and raised in Mexico City.

I completed my studies as physician at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where I had the opportunity to be part of a select group of medical students  noted for their knowledge and abilities.

After obtaining my medical degree, I decided to pursue a specialty in neurosurgery, at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery “Manuel Velasco Suárez”, a top specialty medical center in Mexico City, related exclusively for the study, diagnosis and treatment of pathologies the affect brain and related structures. Here I had the opportunity to be taught by world-renowned neurosurgeons with different neurosurgery subspecialties.

Upon concluding my medical specialty, I was eager to  continue acquiring new knowledge and abilities, so I decided to pursue a subspecialty in skull base surgery at the National Medical Center “20 de Noviembre” of the Institute of Security and Social Services of the Workers of the State of Mexico (ISSSTE).

As part of my commitment and pursuit of excellence  in treating injuries in the skull base, I have had the opportunity of training with, and learning from the most experienced neurosurgeons in the field of skull base surgery internationally, through fellowships in countries such as USA, Mexico, and Brazil.

In 2017 I moved to Costa Rica and, once incorporated as a specialist physician at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Costa Rica, I continued my practice at the Hospital San Juan de Dios, of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund.
